Free Palestine

The page I didn't want to create.

After sixty years or so of protest and talk of a two state solution that never go anywhere - I guess we are back at square one.

Free Palestine. The hope that one day the Palestinians might have some land to call their own and a chance for representation at the UN.

Here are some designs and commentary.

Free Palestine

The Free Palestine design below joins many thousands of designs about this issue. An issue that has lasted for sixty years or so.

The word "Free" is made from a Palestinian flag as the "F" with the remaining hand drawn lettering in the colours of the flag. An eye-catching image to make the point.

Kneecap

Kneecap are an Irish hip-hop band who came to the attention of many when they were singled out for their pro-Palestinian views. People such as the UK Prime Minister said they should be banned for supporting terrorism. Yep. That old chestnut.

The design below is a tribute to the mask that one of their performers wears - an Irish flag on a mask.

They support a United Ireland too. How terrible.

Palestine Action

Palestine Action are a direct action protest group. They have been banned under terror legislation by the UK government. Anyone supporting, or showing support for, this banned group can now be prosecuted under the legislation.

Many prominent lawyers and civil rights organisations have described the use of terror legislation for a group that has at most caused minor damage to property as judicial overreach. Not what the legislation was introduced for.

Or was it? In an age where free speech in under constant threat, where lawfare and bad legislation is used to silence protest and opposition, the banning of Palestine Action being one more such example.

Peace Palestine

Above all, the Palestinian people deserve peace. The vast majority of them are civilians trapped in a situation that they cannot escape. No chance of escaping and achieving refugee status somewhere else with the borders around firmly closed.

Peace.

It's what we all desire, and deserve. The world seems to have lost it's moral compass where Palestine is concerned.

Pray for Gaza

When the dust settles in Gaza, I write this in August 2025, the world will get to see what Israel have done, and what our Western governments have been complicit in.

The wholesale destruction of property, facilities, services and farms.

The one thing they will not be able to destroy are the Palestinian people.

Until the war stops all we can do is Pray for Gaza.

Two State Solution

The two state solution for the original Mandatory Palestine was first proposed in 1937!

It has taken a long time for nothing to be achieved. At times in history the two state proposal has seemed closer, and then further away.

The idea is that Israel and Palestine would have two separate states living next to each other. Somehow it never seems to work out.

But what other option is there?

Summing Up

I hope one day there will be no market for my designs supporting Palestine. No daily news updates of the latest suffering ignored by our Western politicians.

I hope one day the Palestinians can have some land to call their own, to thrive and prosper in, without fear.
