While other people are planning, travelling and enjoying their holidays - our dedicated team of holiday writers have been ordered to create a fun page for reading at the airport.

It will contain puns, jokes, illustrations, destinations, films, songs and a host of other ideas - and they need to produce it before they even think about booking their own leisure time away.

With that in mind some of the cheeriness of this original content may seem a little forced.  It comes from looking out of an office window in a tower block on a grey rainswept day.

Although trade union power has dwindled over the years as the capitalists gain the upper hand - there are still opportunities for the working man or woman to make their small voices heard.

Strikes on the transport system at holiday time are a traditional fixture.  Typical workers include pilots, air traffic controllers, train operators and customs staff.

Queues on roads and at railways and airports demonstrate how many people choose the worst possible time of the year to get away from it all.  It is the most effective time to stage a twenty-four strike.

Your politics will determine whether you blame striking workers, management, investors, government or even the holiday-makers themselves.
