Snake and Reptile Drawings

A small collection of snake and reptile drawings.

I have never kept a snake. But I have been reptile adjacent. Not a keeper, more friends with a keeper.

They are cold-blooded creatures with some cool differences with the usual furry pets.

I drew a few.

Bearded Dragon

Not all animals are cute and furry. Some people really like lizards and reptiles.

The bearded dragon is one of the cooler reptilian friends - making a fun and different pet companion with personality.

The graphic shown has a strong bold outline and a few visual clues to capture the essence of the creature.

Cobra

The Cobra is a magnificent snake.  I drew part of it. Figured it might be a cool design for a t-shirt or something. Kind of wish I had drawn all of it but it was challenging enough to create.

I sometimes spend too much time trying to be accurate.

Crocodile

Here is a simple crocodile with a few visual clues. This is one of my more stick figure style representations, where detail is sacrificed to create a more graphic design.

When I started drawing stick figures I was tempted to do stick style representations of all sorts of creatures. This one has survived the inevitable cut.

Leopard Gecko

The leopard gecko is a small reptile with a very cute face.

It is a fun lizard to house in a  vivarium and let out to explore and interact with you and your surroundings.

This was a fun and easy graphic to play with using a mix of genuine details and a little free art to play with the design.

Newt

Cool pond creature with a deliberately misspelled name.

Newt fanciers may be horrified. What on earth has happened to educational standards?

I just thought noot was cute. They are in my garden pond. At least I think they are. They don't advertise themselves, except at mating time.

Rattlesnake

The rattlesnake on the Stick Animal Drawing page is a very simple version.

This one has a little more detail. It is stuck between being an attempt at a genuine drawing and a simple cartoon style graphic. It probably achieves neither.

I reach a point with drawings where I am tired of trying to make something work. This guy was one of those.

Time to Lay in the Sun

This is one of my shorter art collections. If this was a gallery, these pictures would be tucked away on the second floor, in a small room next to the cleaning cupboard. I might only sell the odd one for several hundred pounds.

Oh yeah. I'm a dreamer too.

One more thing. Reptiles are like small dinosaurs. So, there's that.
