A to Z of Three Letter Agencies
Yeah right. Believe that and you'll believe anything.
Here is a short but growing collection of those agencies and some cool protest designs.
CIA - Central Intelligence Agency
The earth does not actually have corners so that's an immediate red-flag from the fact checkers.
DOJ - Department of Justice
The justice systems of 'less developed' countries are often pictured as corrupt. When they are used to remove or punish political opponents the Western news media quickly highlight the flaws in their justice departments.
And yet. One wonders how proud the DOJ is of its actions in recent times. How their much-vaunted fairness has been tainted by strange-seeming decisions. Not to prosecute this one, but pursue this other one to the legal ends of the earth.
FBI - Federal Bureau of Investigation
They didn't investigate Hilary's emails, Hunter's laptop or Epstein's client list.
But when it came to Trump they went above and beyond their supposedly apolitical remit. That was written before Trump was re-elected.
With a new set of political masters the agency pivoted. One set of unfairness exchanged for another. I was foolish to expect any different.
ICE - U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement
America was built on immigration. A vibrant mix of people from across the world. A place where you can be anything, if you work hard enough for it.
The sight of masked ICE raiders entering factories and workshops to check immigration status is shocking. The detention of people and sometimes, forced repatriation, is not the America I used to dream of.
Hence the design. I'm not a fan.
IMF - International Monetary Fund
They are there to help. Think of them like a kindly elder relative who hands Johnny a few dollars now and again and says "Don't worry, pay it back when you can afford it".
Any suggestion they use the influence of unlimited cash to buy political influence and overthrow governments is obviously just silly conspiracy stuff. Still, it must have been tempting for some to subvert these charitable ideals. Fortunately our political and corporate systems are full of decent honest people.
IRS - Internal Revenue Service
No one wants to pay tax and pretty much everyone hates their particular country's revenue collectors. For the most part revenue services act reasonably and fairly.
For the most part. However, revenue collection is one more area like lawfare that can be used against political opponents. Some people are hounded for claimed tax payments while others are treated with greater leniency. The IRS fits neatly within the grey morality of three letter agencies.
Referred to by some as the Infernal Revenue Service.
MSM - Mainstream Media
Mainstream media refers to organizations such as CNN, BBC, Washington Post, the Guardian and most of the traditional news outlets. Claiming to be impartial keepers of the truth, they are a dangerous misleading influence.
For the most part when reporting non-contentious man bites dog stories they function in a reasonable manner. It is the distribution of shadowy influenced material that is disturbing.
Watch as the MSM report identical propaganda worldwide within minutes of each other. Using the same phrasing with no questioning of the narrative.
Want the truth and back story behind major issues? You need to dive into the internet, find your own trusted sources and hope they don't get silenced.
There is no real investigative journalism about important issues on MSM anymore.
TFH - Tin Foil Hat
OK, I cheated. TFH isn't an official acronym for Tin Foil Hat. It will be one day.
You can take this design either way. It's the words in a vague hat shape. For people who are either pro or anti conspiracy theory. Wear it proudly or ironically - that's up to you.
I will just say that many conspiracy theories ultimately turn out to have some basis in fact. That's when you need a hat.
WEF - World Economic Forum
WHO - World Health Organization
Sounds too be good to be true, don't it?
ZZZ - My Three Letter Summary
Once you see the rotten part of the fruit in one organization it becomes more easy to spot in others. Like sifting through a barrel of apples. Oh. this one's bad. This one is rotten also. Oh there's another. And another.
You give up. Maybe it is easier to look for a good apple among the rotting pile.
I have not gone into specifics of corruption in this list of agencies. There are plenty of examples both current and historical for the half-interested observer. Even Wikipedia, that bastion of free speech and fairness, allows a Controversy section on many of its otherwise seemingly promotional pages.
Sadly, every organization becomes corrupted. The lures of power and money are too much for many to resist, and for those susceptible a clear path to promotion exists. Over many years these agencies have lost their way, removed from the idealist origins of their creation.
For the most part they function at the original level, performing their intended functions.
But there is no harm in us keeping a very close eye on them.
